Where Are You - Follow
This phase of the process is the front door to being a pursuer of God. If you do not know Jesus, are exploring questions about God, but have not yet crossed the line of faith, or have accepted Jesus but are not consistently involved with any local church body of believers, then you need to grow more in the healthy practices of following Jesus.
If you hear yourself or others saying a phrase like one of the following, you would do well to focus on that particular point in your journey.
Worship
- “I am a good person and don’t need religion.”
- “I don’t need church! Church people are just hypocrites.”
- “I went when I was a kid but didn’t get anything out of it.”
- “I don’t need to be a part of a small group or church to follow Jesus.”
- “Once I get my life straightened out, I’ll start going to church.”
Fresh Bread
- “I am struggling with _______ (need or problem) and not sure how to find my way out of it.”
- “I don’t understand how I can know what direction God wants me to go.”
- “I don’t know how to pray. Could you pray for my ___________(need)?”
- “I have a Bible, but don’t know how to read it.”
Next Steps
- “I want to follow Jesus, but I’m not sure how to go about it.”
- “I don’t know where to go from here.”
- “I wish someone would help me figure out what I should do next.”
- “I really want to grow in my relationship with God."
