Where Are You - Become
You have entered this phase of the process when you demonstrate that you are consistently gathering with others for worship, actively building a relationship with Christ and allowing God’s Spirit to transform and produce spiritual fruit. A real change of heart is taking place with a growing desire to experience authentic community and to begin serving and caring for others. The focus is moving from your own needs and turning towards focusing on the needs of others.
If you hear yourself or others saying a phrase like one of the following, you would do well to focus on that particular point in your journey.
Connect
- “I know I have accepted Christ but my life is just too busy for small groups.”
- “I don’t feel like I know anybody at this church.”
- “Nobody seems to really care about me.”
- “I love this church because I feel like I belong.”
- “I like the close friendships I’m developing in my group and just hope we can keep our group just the way it is.”
Serve
- “I want to help, but I don’t have any special talents or abilities.”
- “I’d serve, but I don’t want to get stuck doing everything.”
- “I want to serve, but not sure how can I get involved.”
- “I feel led to make a meal or help a family in need in my neighborhood.”
Be Generous
- “I don’t mind giving my time, but I don’t understand why I should give my money to the church.”
- “Times are tough and I have too many bills of my own to be able to give.”
- “I’d give, but what difference will my small gift make?”
- “I am helping in the nursery so that parents can attend a worship service.”
- “My small group really helped my family out when I was out of work.”
