Starting with the End in Mind

The intent or goal of this guide is:

To help you pursue God, so that you can help others.

This embodies the overall mission we believe God has called us as individuals and as a collective body of believers to fulfill, that of helping people pursue God through Biblical truth, genuine community and life transformation.

As you will find when you search the pages of the Bible, especially the New Testament, any honest pursuit of God eventually leads a person to an encounter with Jesus. Just like he did with two brothers as they were fishing, Jesus himself offers an intriguing invitation,

“Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Matthew 4:19, NLT)

You see, he is really asking you, “Do you want to live life on the edge, full of risk, adventure and great reward? Do you want to be a part of something that will make an eternal difference in other people’s lives? ” When you take him up on it and jump in with both feet, your life will begin to change in ways you never imagined!

In those words of Jesus, you discover a description of what it means to be a pursuer of God.

A pursuer of God…

Follows Jesus.  “Come, follow me…” Jesus invites you to learn from him as you explore questions about God and life through biblical truth. When you commit to letting Jesus lead and becoming a life-long follower of his, you cross the line of faith and enter into a whole new relationship with God.

John 3:16-18, 14:6, Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 10:8-13, Acts 2:36-39

Becomes more like Jesus. “Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how…” Jesus wants to show you how to live a life that really makes a difference. As you allow God’s Spirit to transform and produce spiritual fruit in you, he frees you to experience authentic community and to serve others.

Romans 8:29, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Galatians 5:22, Philippians 2:1-11, 1 Peter 4:10

Engages the mission of Jesus. Jesus wants to show us how to “fish for people.”  He came to “seek and save” those who were lost and far from God and wants to help us pursue God so we can help others.

Luke 19:10, Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
